Mooladhara Chakra Affirmations

Mantra “Shri Ganesha”

Affirmation: ‘To Your powers, Shri Ganesha, we surrender all; let the left side of the memory and the right side of action surrender to You and let Your enlightenment prevail”.

To the Divine Essence of the prayer:

“Let our ears hear that which is true;
Let our eyes see that which is pure ;
Let our beings praise that which is Divine ;
And let those who listen hear not my voice
But the wisdom of God .
Let us worship with the same song, the same strength
And the same Knowledge ;
And let our meditation enlighten and enrich.
Let there be amongst us compassion and peace.

a) Left Mooladhara:

“Shri Ganesha, please give us power to eradicate evil in ourselves, overcome temptations and seductions and conquer spirits which capture other people.
Mother, by your grace, I am the innocence of a child ”

b) Right Mooladhara:

“Shri Ganesha, please make us humble, obedient and devoted to our Divine Mother, for only through devotion it is possible to realize the self .
Mother, verily You are the Destroyer of Negativity”

Ashta Vinayakas

"... one has to understand how it is so important in Maharashtra that people worship Ganesha. As you know there are Ashta Vinayakas, eight Ganeshas are there, around this area, and this triangle of Maharashtra, which has got on one side one big mountain. On the other side we have another mountain, which, of course, is not in Maharashtra. And also on top we have another mountain. So like a triangle, which is made like a Mooladhara, means the Kundalini itself. So the Kundalini of the whole world resides in this area. That's why it is called, we should say, as Maharashtra, is the country which is very great, the nation which is very great.

What are the Don'ts and Do's for Sahaja Yogis?

Question: What are the Don'ts and Do's for Sahaja Yogis?

Answer: First and foremost thing is that a Sahaja Yogi cannot smoke or drink. One absolutely hundred percent sure. Because if you drink or smoke, you will find after sometime, either you will lose your Vibrations, or you will start vomiting. You cannot smoke. If you smoke, your Visshuddhi will be caught. If you drink, your Manipur (Nabhi) will be caught, and whenever you put your hand towards my Photograph, your Nabhi Chakra will be burning. Many people have done it without any difficulty. They do not have any difficulty. They just give up. So this is one of the most important thing that you have to gradually give up. You just take my Name and it will work it out.Secondly. don't fast. When Mother is there you have not to fast. Only fast on Nrak Chaturdashi.

That's all. If you don't feel like eating, eat something else. But don't keep your stomach empty. You can drink fruit juice, or milk or whatever you like. These are certain things about the food and stomach Nabhi Chakra. Next the eyes, are the very important things, where you have to be very careful not to move your eyes very fast anywhere, try to keep your eyes steady, and mostly on the Mother Earth. You have heard about Laxmana, He never saw the face of Sitaji. Only saw Her feet. How can that be? He was always with them. So you can imagine what should be the position. For complete fourteen years, he has to lead a Bramhachari life. She was like his mother. He knew that She was Adi Shakti. But he just saw Her feet. That should be our case. We should lead a sanctified married life. Create a nest of family. A proper family house. Try to adopt, compromise, adjust. Make your wife realised, make your husband Realised, and bring peace in the family; because there are many great souls who want to take birth.

Those who got married like this, they all got realised children. So you must try to get a family life, a proper family, a proper relationship give service to your parents, don't find faults with your parents and try to be kind to them, and try to be good in the family. Don't spoil the children, also correct them. Make them loving. Make a nice society. Every one of you should be the carrier of Love of your Mother. If you are a Sahaja Yogi, and if you change and transform in your behaviour, naturally Sahaja Yoga will have its own reputation, and everybody will start taking to Sahaja Yoga. You cannot earn any money from Sahaja Yoga.Do not have Sahaja Yogis for business partnership.Do not use Sahaja Yoga for making money. You have to be generous people.

You have to be honest.There are Ten Commandments as they say, and be satisfied in your heart.You have to lead a chaste life, and see chaste things your priorities will change. Your friends will change, you will not like dirty jokes. You will just change, and run away from them. I have seen these foreigners now. They say t hat they just cannot tolerate those things now. Once upon a time whatever they used to tolerate and enjoy also; they cannot tolerate it now. Because you have become sensitive now. You have to be decent people.Don't be misers at all. All miserly people are against Sahaja Yoga, and if miserly people come I give them troubles. If you are miserly, you get lots of troubles. So don't get miserly. I am telling you, don't be too talkative also. If you become too talkative, and troublesome, I can stop your talking.If you don't talk at all; that is also not good. That means, don't go to extremes.

May God Bless you all.
Advice given by Her Holiness Mataji Shri Nirmala Devi on 22nd March 1977 (770322) at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan

We are all getting younger by gravity of age as we grow in Sahaja.

" The worst thing for Sahaja Yogis is to think that he is sick, it tarnishes the name of Sahaja Yoga. If you still feel you are sick, you better get out of Sahaja Yoga. Either you get well or you are not a Sahaja yogi. If you are a Sahaja Yogi then you have to see that you get well. If there are certain problems also, doesn't matter. For example I as the Mother, the Adi Shakti have certain problems, certain physical things I have to face. But I go through it. You have to accept your body as it is. You have not to say that I am not well and go on complaining. Never think you are old. Never feel that you are no good. Look at your Mother. I never feel that way. So if you have a Guru, then that image should be within you 'Look at our Mother, how old She is, how much She travels, how much She does ' Alright, you might say She is the Adi Shakti, but little bit of Shakti you too have. That Shakti has to be shown through your dynamism. If you have no dynamism and still feel weak, that means that you are not a Sahajayogi. Just ask for any amount and it can come to you. You are all getting younger and younger but not with stupidity of youth, but the gravity of age."

If there is Discretion, deep seekers do not go astray

If in the West people were not so much outside, they would have been much better off I think. Fashions won’t work out in countries where they are deeply rooted into traditions and into a proper understanding of life. Of course, the countries which have been very ancient, have been traditionally trying to improve themselves, with error and trial and error and trial methods, have developed much better discretion, much better understanding. But the countries, which have not gone through that entire ordeal, have not worked out, have not gone through that discipline, lack in discretion. And that’s why many of the people though they are of very deep seeking have gone astray. If they had discretion they would not have gone astray, they would not have gone to wrong places, but the discretion was missing.

We miss the biggest nourishment of Holiness if we have no discretion

So it comes to the discretion how to use your Ida Nadi and Pingala Nadi and discretion to understand what is good and what is bad. Now let us see the Ida Nadi. Ida Nadi is very important because the discretion in this can only come through traditional understanding. Ida Nadi starts from the Ganesha’s point – Mooladhara. So first we miss the biggest support, the biggest help, the biggest nourishment of holiness and auspiciousness, at Mooladhara, if we have no discretion. We always take to a thing, which is detrimental to our growth, and also which may destroy us, not only us but the whole country. We like people who are destructive, when there is no discretion. Discretion means that you must choose the things which are good for you, which are benevolent to you, which are good for the collective, which are good for your ascent. On the contrary, the people who have no discretion fall into the traps of wrong type of people.

Mooladhara as the abode of Gauri - Why Gauri produced Shri Ganesha

Mooladhara as the abode of Gauri - Why Gauri produced Shri Ganesha Gauri is the mother of Shri Ganesha and She produced Shri Ganesha because She was having a bath and to protect Her chastity She produced Shri Ganesha. In the same way, Kundalini is the Gauri and we have got Ganesha sitting in the Mooladhara chakra. So we have got Mooladhara as the abode of Gauri, of Kundalini, and the protection of the Kundalini is done by Shri Ganesha.

As you know, Shri Ganesha is the deity, which is for our innocence. Only Shri Ganesha could be there in that picture because, as you know, the pelvic plexus looks after all the excretory functions and it is Shri Ganesha only who can really stay there without getting dirtied by the surroundings. He's so pure. He's so innocent. While the Kundalini is the virgin, the virgin mother of Shri Ganesha, people have started talking against Mary by saying there was something wrong, "How could a virgin get a child?" Because we do not understand that it is God and in the area of God anything is possible. They're above all these things and they can create anything, and in any way, Ganesha had to be born out of a virgin because He was so pure.

So Kundalini has to be supported by Shri Ganesha. If Shri Ganesha is weak, then Kundalini cannot be supported. Shri Ganesha has to support Her in the awakening part, first of all. When the Kundalini is getting awakened Shri Ganesha stops all the functions that it has to work. All the functions are stopped so that, you must have seen, I sit for nine hours, ten hours sometimes;I don't get up because all functions of Shri Ganesha, everything stops when the Kundalini is rising. She's fully supported and looked after by Shri Ganesha. (08.04.1991, New Zealand)

The Ganesha Principle

We have to be wise and see what is destroying us and our inner being. For Sahaja Yogis it is very important. Because if there is a cloth or Sari which is blown off by the wind, even if you can hold it on one corner, then the whole thing can be saved. And this is what has to happen actually to the world when Sahaja Yogis will hold the Sari or Universe with their Wisdom and firm faith in Sahaja Yoga. Otherwise they can be blown off also. If they are not rightly placed or grounded, if they are not fixed to their own enlightened faith of Sahaja Yoga, they can be blown off with this wind which is there to torture and destroy the whole world. The responsibility of Sahaja Yoga is very important that their Ganesha principle should be alright. If it is not alright then the whole of Sahaja Yoga movement can collapse. Both ladies and gents should try to put their Shri Ganesha in a very respectable position in their life style. That should be the highest and the most important thing, everyday we should remember that we are very much blessed by Shri Ganesha to get our self realization. (21.07.1993, Germany)

Four petals of Mooladhara Chakra

The petals are like catchments areas for the blessings or powers bestowed upon us by our Holy Mother.

The first petal goes in a downward direction towards the ground.It holds the joy of the Brahmanand- the pure and absolute joy of the divinity. So we can pray "O Shri Mataji, please bless us with the joy of Brahmanand" Remember always, after the prayer to wait with your attention at the Sahasrara until you feel the attention to the prayer.

The second petal goes towards the left.It holds two blessings - the first is that He removes the obstacles to our ascent. So, here we pray, "Oh Shri Mataji, please let your Shri Ganesh Tatwa remove all the obstacles to our Ascent" Secondly it holds the majesty and dignity that is brought by pure Spirit. "Shri Mataji, please fill each cell of our being with the majesty and dignityof the pure Spirit"

Third is the petal, which goes to the right. Here there are three qualities....First, the absolute dedication and surrender of Shri Ganesha to His / Our Holy Mother. Pray..."Shri Mataji, please fill every cell of our being with the complete dedication and surrender of Shri Ganesha to Your Holy Lotus Feet" Secondly, the wisdom which Shri Ganesha endows and thirdly the pure knowledge of the divinity. So here we can pray "Shri Mataji please bless us with the absolute wisdom of Your Shri Ganesha "And "Shri Mataji please bless us with the pure knowledge of Your Divinity".

The fourth petal then goes upwards . Here there two blessings, which the petal holds. Firstly is the complete fearlessness, which Shri Ganesha has in the knowledge that he is the child of the Adi Shakti and therefore at one with the Divinity- nothing can harm us when we are at one with God's will.Pray "Shri Mataji please bless us with the complete fearlessness of Your Shri Ganesha" Secondly this petal collects the amrut that trickles down from the Divine when the Sahasrara is open and one with the Holy Spirit of God Pray "Shri Mataji, please fill each cell of our being with the nectar of Your Divine Love".

Mooladhar Chakra

INTRODUCTION

In the beginning of evolution, the first amoeba cell organisms were formed
. Thereafter they became more and more complex, developing into multi-cellular organisms, and ultimately to humankind. The Mooladhara Chakra is made of the earth element and represents the beginning of life. When awakened and nourished, this association with the earth element manifests as a magnetic force within the person. For instance a person with a strong Mooladhara center has a good inner sense of direction (in more ways than one). This Chakra is at the root or foundation of the subtle system, and Mooladhara is situated below the abode of the Kundalini, at the very base of the subtle body. In Sanskrit, "moola" means root (which is the Kundalini) and "adhara" means the support - so Mooladhara translates into the supporter of the Kundalini.

Position in Human Body :

QUALITY

The fundamental quality of the Chakra is innocence, which forms the basis of every righteous (dharmic) character. This innocence is the type of quality, which is evident in babies and small children. It represents action without motive or desire for gross personal gain. This innocence is accompanied by the innate wisdom of a child. A baby knows fundamental aspects of nature instinctively - it knows how to show discomfort by crying, or how to suck to obtain food. This root wisdom, if left undisturbed, would develop into a balanced set of priorities in the adult. Unfortunately the influence of human society sometimes tends to muddy this innocence and so obscure the wisdom that goes with it. By awakening the qualities of the Mooladhara through our meditations, we learn again to be more innocent beings. To be less motive-led in our actions and to make the correct decisions in our lives.

TRADITION

The presiding deity (or role model) for the Moolandhara Chakra is Shri Ganesha, the child with the head of an elephant. He is the embodiment of innocence and he guards this Mother Kundalini (Guari) and her instrument with great alertness and uncompromising zeal. It is he who informs Kundalini when it is time to awaken and it is his anger, which produces the heat in the sympathetic nervous system (subtle body) if any unauthorized person tries to do so. He is worshipped as the remover of obstacles - the obstacles, which may occur in the course of the awakening of the Kundalini and the development of one's realization.

The wisdom of Shri Ganesha is the wisdom of the heart - that is the ability to perceive the true meaning of what people may say or do (i.e. what is really in their heart). Children again naturally have this ability as they often tune in to the feelings and subtle signals rather than the face value of what is said. Shri Ganesha is also the eternal divine child, and he therefore likes to have fun and enjoy. He bubbles with enthusiasm, playfulness and love.

GROSS PHYSICAL ASPECT

The Mooladhara Chakra governs the excretory and reproductive organs, and as such has a direct bearing on the sexual aspects of the human being. There have been attempts in the past to awaken the Kundalini through sexual practice (witness also the tantric sexual ritual in practices such as witchcraft and voodoo around the world). This is obviously very dangerous and can cause the greatest harm to the Chakra itself. If one remembers that the Mooladhara center provides a gateway though which the Kundalini must pass, then it is easy to understand how anything, which is not innocent, can harm it. Sex has its place in human life as the most sublime physical expression of love within the marriage.

Through this channel birth and the creation continue their course. However, it is another thing to allow sex to dominate our lives and bring us out of balance. After realization one learns to develop respect and proper esteem for one's own chastity and the chastity of others. This sense of right conduct is essential for the development of our own gravity and power. It is the foundation stone of each of us as human beings, the power of incorruptible innocence.

CLEARING THE MOOLADHARA

A weakened Mooladhara may show up in a number of ways:

poor sense of direction, poor memory, poor sense of balance (gravity), certain ‘incurable’ diseases or mental problems.

Using the Elements:

  • Sit on earth as much as possible.
  • Place the left hand toward the photograph, with a lit candle in front of it, right hand on the earth.
  • To help in clearing the left Mooladhara place the left hand on the Chakra (just above the
  • groin area) and the right hand on the ground.
  • Soaking your feet in a bowl of warm salted water (footsoaking) is also helpful to this Chakra.

Affirmations:

  • Mother please make me innocent.
  • Mother please clear my Mooladhara Chakra.

General Advice from Shri Mataji:

  • Try to keep your attention on natural things such as the earth, sky or grass rather than on gross or material things, which may be fighting to get your attention.
  • Avoid too much red meat as this can overexcite the Chakra.
  • Relate to members of the opposite sex as brothers and sisters.
  • Meditate on the quality of innocence to develop this power

Our Divine Mother..!
