Second era of Sahaja Yoga

In the first era of Sahaja Yoga, you needed to see Me in person. As we say in Sanskrit, a "Dhyeya", is the target, you wanted the target in front of you, whatever is to be achieved.So now when you wanted that all the time and you felt happy, secure, joyous, when you had that in person before you.



Then, in the second era, now, you will not desire so much that Mother should be there. You'll take it over from Me. This is the Divine Desire I'm telling you about, and you have to work on that from today onwards.



I am with you, you know that, but need not be in this body, because I don't know if I exist in this body or not. But once this desire starts working, you will see tremendous miracles happening.



When the child is born to a mother, automatically she gets milk. So the nature is so connected with the whole thing. In your divine desire also it is connected, and it is very evident when you are a divine person. So you may find Me anywhere, you are walking on the street, suddenly you might find Mataji walking with you.



So this is the second era we have started, and you should not be shocked if you see Me sitting on your bed and putting My hand on your head, or you may see Me in the form of Christ walking into your room, or as Shri Rama. That has to happen, so you should be prepared.



Already so many miracles have taken place on you, but on a grosser level. You have seen the light coming on My head and the photographs have shown some miracles to you, but many things will happen, that you will see something that you could never imagine.



This has to happen just to convince you that you have reached a certain height of your evolution in the new area of Pragyalok because this is a new state into which now you will be entering on a horizontal basis.



In this area you will give up asking for gross things, and also for anything subtler, anything that is subtle, the asking will disappear, and that is the time you will become very powerful. Whatever I say happens as you know, only thing, I cannot command you to be evolved.



The Kundalini's work in you has been done, quite a lot, now the new work of compassion, of spreading it to others, has to be done by you. As the light grows brighter and brighter, the area it covers becomes bigger and bigger. So you become the giver of compassion.

Sahaja Yogi: Will you continue to travel round the world doing this work until you die?

Shri Mataji: It's very futuristic. I don't think of My death so far. As long as I can do, I will do, but if these people are realized, then I think they will give Me some rest sometime.


I must also have some rest. Now I am sixty years of age. How long do you want Me to live? It is for you to decide. If you take over then I will not live.

Sahaja Yoga Begins

Sahaja Yoga started with a handful of seekers in Bombay and Delhi. Friends would organise small meetings in their homes, where Shri Mataji would give Self-Realisation, and work tirelessly for hours in establishing the chakras of the seekers. Gradually She started giving en mass realisation at public programs. The number of Sahaja Yogis rose to a few hundred and Sahaja Yoga centres were established in Delhi and Bombay. She was not concerned with the quantity of people, but with the quality of the seekers. She never took any money for giving self realisation and started Sahaja Yoga with Her own resources.

Sahaja Yoga aims to bring meditation into the lives of ordinary people who seek a meaningful spiritual experience in the course of their hectic daily life. The state of meditation is attained through a spontaneous awakening of the Kundalini, a dormant spiritual energy inside every human being. Once awakened, the Kundalini serves as a boundless source of a peaceful and balancing force. "Through this process an inner transformation takes place by which one becomes moral, united, integrated and balanced," states Sahaja Yoga's official website (www.sahajayoga.org).

Shri Mataji explains the fact that the awakening of this energy is necessary in order to attain global pace. "The world is in a state of crisis that can only be solved by enlightened people. The awakening of Kundalini enlightens, and Sahaja Yoga awakens spontaneously the Kundalini energy," Shri Mataji explains.

A universal teaching, Sahaja Yoga functions regardless of the cultural level, religion, ethnic or social background. It is also unique among the Yoga types because increasing scientific and clinical research proves its effectiveness as an alternative therapy in treating diseases such as asthma, depression, hypertension and ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder).

"...The relationship between you and me is of course very intimate that you should be within my body. But if you people are not meditating, it is a very mundane thing that I must tell you, "Dhiyan Gamya".



If you are not meditating then I have no relationship with you, you are not my relative, you have no right on me, you have no question to be asked, why this is happening, why that is happening. I always say meditate-meditate, if you do not meditate, I have nothing to do with you, you are no more there for me, there is no connection and you are like all other people.



you may be Sahaja Yogies, you might have got degree of Sahaja Yoga from your leader, I don't know and you may be regarded as something very great. But if you do not do your meditation every day morning-evening you are not any more in the realm of Shri Mataji! because, the connection is only through Dhiyan, through meditation.

"What are you searching? Why are you aimlessly and listlessly running about? The joy that you have searched in material gains, the joy that you are looking for in power, the joy that disappeared in the words of books-the so-called knowledge-is all lost in yourself, and you are still searching and seeking! You can pay attention to everything outside, yourself! You are lost in your thoughts, like babes in the wood! But there is great hope that you can rise into the Heaven of "thoughtless" awareness, which we call Self-realization."

You should have no worry at all of any kind

Navaratri Puja is a very, powerful puja in a way, because it manifests, opens out the channels of your power, that's why it's very important. All the forces of the Jagadamba act towards hitting the negativity of all kinds. That is Her first and foremost nature, is to destroy all the negativity that is in this world and is against Sahaj, against you. Her destruction takes place in so many ways. First of all, we have to know that if you sin against the Goddess, then all kinds of physical problems start .

If you believe in the Goddess, then know that She is extremely powerful, She is very intelligent, and if She has to protect you She will protect you out and out. But this faith has to be developed. Faith has to be developed by experience also, how you have been protected always; how you have been helped always; how you came out of so many crises. But despite that if you get upset, worried, if some clouds appear in the sky of your life, then if you get upset, that means you are still weak. So first thing, if you are really worshipping the Goddess, then you should have no worry at all of any kind, and you should have no fear at all. Go ahead, fearlessly. Whatever you are doing, do it fearlessly. But at the same time I have to tell you the other side, that one should not go about like a zombie, it doesn't mean that; saying all kinds of nonsensical things of the right side. But if you have to do something, do it with clear-cut ideas, and also without any fear

How much your Mother loves

Think of... how your Mother loves you, who is your Mother... if you really believe in Her, in Sahaja yoga. these two things should solve your problems - no more thinking. Just think how much your Mother loves - when you think how much your Mother loves you, you are jumping onto Her Kundalini, and at that time when you jump onto Mother's Kundalini, then there is no thought. Complete silence will exist once you come onto Mother's Kundalini - but not through your mental projection, but through your meditative spontaneous experience - just feel the joy of that. Just think how much your Mother loves you, and then you are jumping onto Her Kundalini.

"My dear Sahaja Yogis, my dear children,Let this Diwali enlighten you with light of love.You yourself are the lamps which burn high and don't get pressed by the cover. They become much more powerful than the cover. It is their own asset. When they are hit upon, they are disturbed and extinguished.


Why are our lamps disturbed ? You should think over it. Is there no transparent sheath around them ? Have you forgotten your Mother's love and therefore you are so disturbed? As the glass protects the lamp, in the same way my love will protect you. But the glass should be kept clean. How can I explain? Have I to say like Shri Krishna “Leave all religions and surrender to me” or as Shri Jesus "I am the way, I am the door”.

I want to tell that I am that destination. But will you people accept it ? Will this fact go to your hearts? Although what I say is distorted, the truth will always stand.You cannot change what it is. Only you will remain ignorant and backward. I am unhappy because of that.

Diwali is the day of real aspirations. Invoke the whole universe. Many lamps have to be lit, and looked after. Add the oil of love, Kundalini is the wick and awaken the Kundalini of others with light of the spirit within you. This flame of Kundalini will be kindled and one within you will become the torch. Torch is not extinguished. Then there will be spotless sheath of my love. It will neither have any limits nor any end. I will be watching you.

Shri Mataji's Marriage

In 1947, subsequent to her studies at the Christian Medical College in Ludhiana and the Balakram Medical College in Lahore, Shri Mataji married Sir C.P. Srivastava who was to become one of India's living legends, knighted by the Queen of England, Joint Secretary to India's Prime Minister, and who served for 16 years as Secretary General of the United Nations International Maritime Organization.

Shri Mataji has two lovely daughters, Kalpana and Sadhana. Both are happily married with children.

Emancipation of Humanity

After raising two daughters, Shri Mataji began to devote Her time fully to the spiritual emancipation of humanity. She began contemplating how to give en mass realisation to seekers of modern time. Shri Mataji decided in to study what all these so-called God men gurus were doing. Completely disgusted, She was shocked to see them looting people under the guise of spirituality.

Feeling that the seekers all over the world were in danger from these False Gurus and corrupt Priests, and the demonic theories of Freud, on May 4th 1970, near Bombay in Nargol, She went to the seashore

Childhood & Family Home

Her family the Shalivahanas were Christian and of noble decent. They are direct descendants of the Shalivahana's royal dynasty, which reigned in the Indian province of Maharashtra from 230 B.C. to 230 years after Christ.Shri Mataji passed Her childhood years in the family house in Nagpur. Nirmala was very happy and was loved by everyone. Most of the time, She was bursting with childhood energy and inspired Her playmates of all different ages in drama, songs and dance. Other times, one might find Her alone in a remote corner of the house, with Her face beaming with inward joy, lost in meditation. She would even go to school barefoot in order to feel Mother Earth.

Sahaja Yoga is the culmination of Shri Mataji's work. She spent her childhood in Mahatma Gandhi's ashram and was one of the leaders in the youth movements during India's fights for independence from the British Empire. Shri Mataji was born with the consciousness that enlightenment is the natural right of every human being, and she developed the method of Sahaja Yoga (meaning, "spontaneous union") to share this experience with humanity. In recognition of her contribution, she was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Shri Mataji's Birth

On March 21st at 12 noon, year 1923, Shri Mataji was born in Chindwara (Central India), which is located on the longitude of the Tropic of Cancer. Coincidentally the Holy City of Mecca is also on the Topic of Cancer. Seeing the beauty of this child who was born with a spotless brilliance and very bright shining eyes, they called her Nirmala, which means 'Immaculate'. "When I was born, there was darkness around. I thought - how would I tell the people and how to give them realization?"

Recognizing Shri Mataji and Sahaja Yoga

On 12th November 1993, (Saint Petersburg, Russia) the Petrovskaya Academy of Art and Science conferred on Shri Mataji the Honorary Presidium Membership of the Academy. This academy also conferred a similar award on Albert Einstein. However the President of the Academy remarked that Einstein worked with dead matter whereas the work of Shri Mataji is far greater, as Her work brings peace to mankind. In the history of this institution, one of the oldest academies in the world, only 12 people have ever been granted this honor.

On 14th September 1994, the Academy held a Science Conference with Sahaja Yoga. This was a major breakthrough in the field of science. Eminent scientists accepted Sahaja Yoga as the 'Meta Science' and declared that science had not advanced to anywhere near the level of Sahaja Yoga.

In 1994, France granted official recognition to Sahaja Yoga as a religion. During Her visit to Brasilia in 1994, the Mayor received Her at the aircraft and presented Her the keys to the city. Ecoforum in Bulgaria awarded Her with a Gold Medal in August 1995 and the same year the Romanian University conferred upon Her a doctorate in Cognitive Science. In September 1995, Shri Mataji was an official guest of the Chinese government and addressed the World Women's Congress in Beijing.

The National Institutes of Health in Washington D.C. hosted on June 19th, 2000 a conference on Sahaja Yoga and Health which was attended by 550 medical professionals. Shri Mataji spoke to a rapt audience about the 'Secret of Medicine'. She said that modern medicine addresses only the left and right sympathetic nervous system that correspond to the left and right channels of energy, while Sahaja Yoga opens the way for 'Meta-Medicine' which for the first time is concerned with the parasympathetic nervous system (the central energy channel, through which the Kundalini energy is activated). This is an actualization that has been proved in Sahaja Yoga.

INTRODUCTION

In the Sahasrara Chakra the whole instrument is integrated. Each Chakra has its place here, and this is where the Deities have their seats within the Virata.

QUALITY

At the point of the Sahasrara we go beyond the relative, to the Absolute. Above the three Gunas, and into the Absolute realization of Heaven on Earth. This is a country far beyond our
wildest imaginings, so much more than our words can even seek to imply. This is our ultimate destination, stretching out forever.

Our progress towards this goal is a living process. When the seed matures it naturally sprouts. William Blake described it perfectly:
“Thou perceivest the flowers put forth their precious odours, and none can tell how so small a center comes such sweets. Forgetting that within that center eternity expands.”

When the Kundalini reaches the Sahasrara, the lotus petals open and enlightenment takes place (samadhi). You may feel a powerful pulsation in the crown of the head, followed by a
melting sensation and a flow of cool vibrations from the fontanel areas. This is the baptism by which you know that you are truly born again.

Vibratory awareness begins at this point. As the Kundalini unites our individual consciousness to the universal consciousness (the Atma to the Paramatma), we are suddenly tuned in to the universal wavelength of vibrations. These vibrations pervade the cosmos, but before Realization, while we are still in the egg form, we know nothing of them. When the Kundalini breaks the shell of the egg, we emerge into God’s Kingdom, the collective unconscious. At this point we are singing the song of the unconscious, the vibrations are playing through the instrument that we have become. But a doubting mind cannot ascend.
“But the man who is ignorant, who has no faith, who is of a doubting nature, perishes. For the doubting soul, there is neither this world nor the world beyond nor any happiness. We must have a positive basis for life, an unwavering faith to discover the truth which stands the test of life” The Bhagavad-Gita IV:40.


As human awareness is united to the Divine, we move into the subtlest level of communication, into collective consciousness. In becoming vessels for that universal power we become one
with all the other vessels. We learn to appreciate the real depth and beauty of another person in vibrations. The beauty of art and nature now manifest itself as vibrations. Just ask the question and a positive answer comes as a flow of cool vibrations. It is conversation at its most sublime.

TRADITION

The presiding Deity (or role model) of the Sahasrara Chakra, Shri Kalki, is still to come. With his eleven destructive powers (Ekadesha Rudra) he is the final, most awesome incarnation of Shri Vishnu. He is the rider of the apocalypse whole only objective is the end of evil. He is the last judgment, and the judgment has begun. We will rise or fall according to the Kundalini. She it is who will give us all the chance to recognize the Truth. It is only through vibratory awareness that we can truly discriminate between that which is True, and that which is false. As the Koran teaches: “At the time of Resurrection, the hands will speak.”

Shri Mataji, as the source of this Mahayoga, also has her place in the Sahasrara. Through Her grace, our Kundalini is awakened, our eternal Spirit is enlightened and we feel vibrations also. Because of Her, we also can awaken the Kundalini of others after our own awakening. We can give Realization to others, we can cure sickness and we can share the message of Divine Love with the entire world. Lord Jesus said, “I will send you a Comforter, a Counselor and a Redeemer, The Holy Spirit, who will teach you all things.”

When human consciousness tunes into the infinite, it becomes infinite. Enlightenment develops spontaneously. The sages have sung the praises of this space and have described it
poetically as the union between the lover and his beloved. The Buddha called it the Void, Mahavira termed it Nirvana, the Vedas called it Moksha and the Christ referred to it as the
Kingdom of Heaven.


Shri Mataji describes it thus:

"The limited capacity of the brain becomes unlimited
in its capacity to realize God. If you are the sun and
the sunlight, if you are the moon and the moonlight
where is duality? Only when there is separation there
is duality and because of that separation you feel attachment…
a distance between you and yours; that’s
why get attached to it. Everything is we, who is the
other? When the brain has lost its identity, the so

General Advice:

Press the Brahmarandra (fontanel area) with the left hand and place the right hand towards the picture of Shri Mataji, then try reversing the hand positions.

Massage the head with even hand pressure, move the scalp to and fro many times until the pressure on the head reduces.

Using cupped hands massage the sides of the head. The Ego can show up in the hands as the left
Sahasrara catching, and the Superego as the right Sahasrara. called limited brain becomes the unlimited Spirit.”
