Four days that are celebrated in Diwali

First of all you have to know there are four days that are celebrated in Diwali, but there is one more day added to it in Maharashtra.





The first day of Diwali is called as Dhanatrayodashi, is the thirteenth day of the moon. Because that day is the first day when Lakshmi, the first… was born on the thirteenth day. That means She was born as a Gruha Lakshmi, as a housewife.


Now there are eight Lakshmis, which she will read it now and I will tell you later on what is the meaning of them. Just of them is Gruha Lakshmi.




So the first is the form of a Gruha Lakshmi. She is born as a Gruha Lakshmi to begin with. That means the awareness of human beings also, started really getting into evolutionary process when they started their family life. When they were vagabonds moving about, then the awareness was just like animals. Though they had become human beings, but they were like animals.





Then when they established their families, then the Gruha Lakshmi started working and that's how the first advent of Gruha Lakshmi was felt. So She is the first Lakshmi who was born, and that's why on that thirteenth day is the day of the Gruha Lakshmi, of the housewife. And so one has to go in the market and buy some utensil or something that she uses for cooking in the house.




In India on the thirteenth day everyone goes and buys a pot or say… we can say, what you call, a cooking utensil or something. Or they may buy a sari or something or gold or something for the Gruha Lakshmi. That is the day of the housewife. So, to reach the Lakshmi one has to understand that motherhood is very important. The motherhood as a Gruha Lakshmi is important.



And the second day is even more important, because Narakasura was killed. Horrible Narakasura as you know him. But actually that day many rakshasas are killed in many… That's the day fixed for killing rakshasas. And then they are put in the hell; on the fourteenth day they are put in the hell. So that’s called as Naraka Chaturdashi, that is the day when the hell is opened out. That day Sahaja Yogis are supposed to sleep in the night while everybody does all kinds of tantrikavidya and all that on the fourteenth day.



Then the fifteenth is that darkest night, that’s the darkest night when there is no moon. Absolutely that's the day when they celebrate the Diwali. But symbolically in India also, Shri Rama returned to Dwari, to his place on that day and was crowned on that day. So the significance of Diwali is expressed in this manner, that this is the day when Narakasura, with all of them are killed, they have all gone to Narak, they have gone to the hell, and the people now are safe from them and they are celebrating the joy.


And that is the time when Christ was born. That's why lights are lit just in the night, ‘because He was born at twelve o'clock in the night.


So the next day to that is the day is celebrated in India only in Maharashtra. I don’t know people celebrate otherwise, I don’t know. Do you celebrate?

Makes no difference. That's the first day of the moon. That is the forefather of your Mother, Shalivahana; they started a calendar, from that date. And so on the first, that means the first day of the moon, the New Year is celebrated.




Now see symbolically if Christ is born and the New Year is celebrated, next day. As soon as He is born New Year starts. So next year it starts: the New Year. That is a New Year in many parts of our country where Shalivahana lived.



The Shalivahan was my forefather, I should say they were My… they were just a dynasty. And this dynasty ruled in India since very long. Even in the old puranas it is written that they helped Krishna in their war. You know all the story about Shalivahana quite a lot. And so the New Year started. So for us, that is the New Year, for Sahaj Yogis that is the New Year, you have to accept it. And your Mother is of that dynasty. I mean no force on you, but if you like you can have it.



Then the second day is also very important. Is the second day is the moon, that is the moon came out of the sea. According to this mythology, the Lakshmi came out of the sea and with Her this moon came out, which was only a two-day-old moon, the new moon but a two-day-old moon, and this was regarded as the brother of Lakshmi, because they were born at the same time from the sea.



So He is the brother of Lakshmi. It’s all symbolic; this is very, very symbolic. Now you see the left side is… left side you know is that of… belongs to Mahakali, and a brother had to be on this side, on the left side. But actually you'll be amazed that he is the brother of Lakshmi. He is not a brother of Mahakali. But because he’s the brother of Lakshmi, he is accepted as the brother of all the goddesses, one brother for all of them. So he is the only brother who is this moon, so he is your uncle, he is your maternal uncle. It's very interesting, because we have a special right on our maternal uncle, we can always ask for his help.



And it’s a big story about this churning that took place that Shiva saw all the poison also coming out. So He drank the poison because He’s the only one who could drink the poison. And He got so heated up in His head, in His neck that He wanted something to cool Him. So He took to this Moon and put it on His head.




So the crowning is the moon. Now if you see it… on Monday is the day of Sahasrara. Monday is the day of Moon. Monday is day of Sahasrara ….. Sadashiva has put it on His head. And that’s what people tease you that, “your brother-in-law is sitting on your head.” It’s very good. You see it’s very symbolic for you, not for me, but for you- that the brother-in-law is sitting on the head.

Gudi Padwa is celebrated in different parts of our country. The way we celebrate it here, it is celebrated in south too. Everywhere this festival is celebrated. The beginning of the Vikrami Samvata and that of the Shalivahana Shaka also fall on the same day.




Today is that day. All our dates and festivals are decided according to it, particularly our festivals.We follow the Moon Calendar whereas the foreigners follow the sun calendar.




This is the reason that the dates of their festivals never get changed. But all our festival depends on the Moon. That is why their dates keep changing and all our festivals are celebrated on different dates.




We give much significance to Moon and decide all our dates and festivals according to it .The reason being the effect of the Moon on human being is much more than that of the Sun. Other planets also have their effects on human beings. So we go according to the Moon and fix the dates of our festivals.




Only one of our festivals is fixed by the position of the Sun- the day, when the journey of the Sun starts towards Equator (Uttarayana). On that fix day we celebrate one of our festivals – Makar Sankranti.Throughout the country this festival is celebrated on the same day. This date never changes.




All our astrology and astronomy go with the position of the Moon. The state of the Moon is considered in astrology and astronomy and the whole astrology is made accordingly. So our first calendar Shalivahana Shaka is based on Moon.All the dates also go according to Moon.




Those who have no knowledge of these facts cannot understand the reason behind this festivals falling on different dates. So we have to think that the significance we have attached to the Moon is because it has a great impact on the human beings. We should be careful about it.




The greatest effect of the Moon is that our left side (Left Sympathetic) depends on it. Very few people know about it. The reason of giving so much importance to this left side is that it affects our psyche. That is why so much significance is attached to it. The effect on the left side is psychic; it does not belong to our brain. It cannot be controlled.




Psychic problems cannot be controlled nor the effect of the Moon. So the dates of the Moon are to be considered. For example on Amavashya (No-Moon night) or Purnima (Full Moon night) the problems of epileptic or psychic patients gets aggravated. On such occasion we could see that the person is affected by No-Moon (Amavashya) or Full Moon (Purnima).




So we are sensitive to the position of the Moon. Very subtle calculations have been done about it.In our country we know much before the dates and times of Moon eclipses. Much thought have been given to it and we have acquired a lot of knowledge about it. It shows that a lot of attention has been given to the effects of the Moon. So much has been written about it'.




In modern times everything is being calculated on the position of the Sun but it is not proper. The position of the Moon also must be taken into consideration. We should know what is going to be the effects of the Moon today. It is a very subtle subject. We should have knowledge about it and it should be discussed in our country.




Today is the New Year day and the beginning of the Moon that is why this day is given so much of significance. It is known as Gudi Padwa. A flag is put on a stick and on it is put a small pitcher. This pitcher represents the Kundalini. It is taken as a symbol.




The Shalivahanas were the devotees of the Devi (Goddess) and it is told that they used to offer shawl to the Goddess. In the beginning they were called 'Sat-Vahanas' because they worshiped seven plexuses. And this 'Sat-vahana' was ultimately changed into 'Shalivahana'.




But the symbol of Shalivahana is the same. They put up a 'Gudi' means a flag and a small pitcher is put on it as a symbol. This pitcher has a particular shape which represents Kundalini. So they were the worshippers of Kundalini and followed it.




That is the reason they made this symbol in this way.All those who follow Kundalini put up a 'Gudi' in their houses and also put a flag on it and thus it is indicated that they welcome the Kundalini and exhibit in a special way. But all these people are moving in the rut. They are doing all these rituals without knowing the cause of it. One should know the reason for doing certain things. What is it?




Because the Satvahanas were the worshippers and protector of Kundalini and they started their New Year like that. In the New Year they made their symbol in the form of a small pitcher and the flag put on the stick. But here in this part people do not know about it nor do they celebrate this festival.




This Samvat or Vikrami calendar was also started from this very date. The years of their beginning might be different, but the date is the same. Both of them follow this Amavashya and that is how the followers of Vikrami and Shalivahana Samvat celebrate Gudi Padwa. Actually it is not Amavashya (the first day of the Moon), today is that day. There is no moon in the sky. It is complete dark.




We should know why it is celebrated in our country? What is particular about it? Without knowing about the customs and festivals of the country we could neither love it nor respect it. These things are very deep rooted but we have no knowledge of them.




People say it is Kaliyuga. Why has this Kaliyuga set-in? What is its meaning? Mostly the people do not know. They know about it from different people and talk about it. It has an important myth behind it of the time of King Parikshit. No one knows about it, no one reads it.




People read only stupid books. At the most they read Ramayana but they have no knowledge of its message or its philosophy. No one knows about it.But we Sahaja Yogis must acquire this knowledge. We must know from where the culture of our country dawned and how it reached at this level.




Without this knowledge our approach will become like foreigners and ego and other negativities will have hold on us. So it will be better to understand from where these qualities have come and what is their significance? Why do we do certain things? Or we do it because other people also do it.




It is not proper.We must have thorough knowledge of it. I desire that all the Sahaja Yogis should know about it and understand it. If I had time enough I would have written about all these things .But I have no time.




You people could read and know about it, all the books are available. There are so many books in Hindi language in India but no one reads them. All these books are available in Delhi. I got them here. We must know about them. Whatever is mythical contains a lot of useful things. By understanding them we could know the roots of India.




Why we Indians are considered the best? Socially we must not be the best but culturally we are considered the best. Many knowledgeable things have been written in these books, such as 'what is Dharma and how to establish it'?




I wish you people study them. The study of these scripture will give you new direction because foreign language and books of knowledge are very superficial. There is a publishing firm named 'Sasta Sahitya Mandal'. I got many books from there. It is a beautiful shop and the books are very cheap there. You don't have to spend much money. Of course time is needed.




We read unnecessary things, watch useless films and unnecessary news. Our study should be very deep and about our old-old treasures'.

Adam and Eve

So Adi Shakti is embodiment of God’s Divine Love, is God’s pure love, and in His love, what did He desire? He desired that He should create human beings who would bevery obedient, would be sublime, would be like Angels; and that was His idea to create Adam and Eve.



So Angels have no freedom, Angels are made like that. They are fixed they don’t know why they do it! Animals also don’t know why they do certain things; they just do it, because they are bound by nature. They are bound by God Almighty. They say Shiva is Pashupati, means He controls all the animals. He is Pashupati. So all the desires come to animals but they do not repent, they don’t have ego, they don’t think that this is wrong, or that is good. They have no karma problem because there is no ego, because they have no freedom.





At this point comes Adi Shakti, which was pure love. So think of a father who has put all his love into one personality, then what is left in him? Nothing. He is just watching. What does he think? He is just watching the play of his desire, of his love. He is watching it, how it is working out. And when he is watching that he is very careful, because he knows that this personality that I have created is nothing but love and compassion. And compassion itself is of such a noble variety that it cannot bear any body challenging that compassion, troubling that compassion, or also in any way demeaning it, lowering it or insulting it. He is so alert on that point and he is very watchful.




So a rift has taken place, we should say from him, from his own desire of love. Now this desire of love has also given a personality means ego, and that this ego has to act on its own. It became, sort of, very independent personality which was free to do whatever it liked. And we cannot think in our mundane life that a husband and wife are absolutely free to do what they like, because there is no cohesion, there is no understanding, there is not that oneness, that rapport. But it is like a moon and moonlight, sun and sunlight. It is such a cohesion, that whatever one does, another enjoys. In that beautiful rift Adi Shakti decided to change His plans. She is known for Her Sankalpa Vikalpa Karoti –anything you try to decide too much, She will make it different, like today’s eleven o’clockPuja.




So when this Adam and Eve business started She thought that they will be just like other animals or Angels. What is the use? They must know what they are doing, they must know why they are doing. They must have the freedom to understand what is the knowledge and like fixed machine like life, that these animals are having, why should they have?





So, in Her arbitrary power which was conceded, of course, She is the one who came as a serpent and told them that, “You taste the fruit of knowledge.” Now for people who are not Sahaja Yogis, you cannot tell this. They will be shocked. But this serpent that came for them to test and then to tell them that, “You better taste this fruit.”




This serpent told the woman, not the man, because woman is supposed to accept things easily. She may even accept bhoots, she may even accept nonsense, but she is the one who accepts. While the man doesn’t accept easily. He argues, he discusses, that’s why she came and told the woman – She came and told the woman I should say. This Holy Ghost actually is a feminine, and so moves nearer to a woman. This feminine Ghost came as a serpent and told that better you taste the fruit of knowledge.




Now it was the job of the lady to convince her husband, because women know how to do that. Sometimes they may convince them wrongly, tell them something which is very wrong, very sinister, as you know, in Macbeth what happened? So many places, we have seen, women have misguided their husbands. But men can be misguided or could beguided, or could be emancipated if they have a proper wife. So he had all faith in his wife, believed in it and they tasted the fruit of knowledge under the guidance of this Holy Ghost who was a feminine personality of God. This cannot be conceived that the people who are just getting a glimpse of Christ or a glimpse of Mohammed Sahib or aglimpse of Nanak Sahib.





They cannot understand. They just had a glimpse of them. If they had told people would have said, Wah! what is this?” They would have never listened to them. So at that time, the way the attention was, the way the reception was, they told about dharma, about ascent.





But in India people talked about Kundalini since long. And that She is the Adi Shakti, reflected within us. Now, you see it is already read it out to you that I will be in every one of them. Now understand that this Adi Shakti is the power of love - of pure love - compassion. There is nothing else She has, only the Pure Love within Her heart. But this Pure Love is so powerful, is so powerful, that is the love She has given to this Mother Earth. Because of that this Mother earth, the amount of sins we may commit, we may do anything, She is pouring out Her love through these beautiful things to all of us.

Makar Sankranti is Samkaraman

The meaning of Makar Sankranti is Samkaraman i.e. the day when the Sun passes from one sign of the Zodiac to another. On this day the Suns starts its movement towards North of the Equator. In India the dates of all the festivals are decided according to the position of the Moon. That is why their dates change every year.




Makar Sankranti is based on the position of the Sun and that is the reason that this festival is always celebrated on 14th of January.



Makar Sankranti indicates that from this day the Sun will get warmer and warmer. The heat ofSun is beneficial for mankind. All our movements depend on this heat. But the impact of the heat could also excite anger in us. That is the reason that on this day we eat Jaggary (Gud) so that we become soft spoken.






Because of the warmth of the Sun all vegetations and wealth grows on the earth. Fruits and vegetables are offered to the Goddess on this day, to invoke Her blessings. By the blessings of the Adi Shakti the Earth element gets calmed down and human being thrives.




The festival of Sankranti has cultural significance too. It is celebrated all over the country with joy and gaiety. It is celebrated in some other countries also but it has special significance in India. The climate here is neither too hot nor too cold. It is quite balanced. It is the grace of the Adi Shakti. In other countries the climatic balance is absent. There either it is extreme cold or extreme hot.




It is not proper for us to change with the change in climate and nature. There is no justification if with the heat of the Sun we get heated –up or enraged. There is no justification for anger. Anger is the worst of the Shudripus (Six enemies).




We are Sahaja Yogis, awakened people. Our kundalini has been awakened. So we must learn how to remain peaceful. Mostly Sahaja Yogis are evolved beings, they are quite good. Very few, only one percent however, are still running after Alakshmi. It is very natural to get annoyed over this sort of behavior. But it is not your job to correct them; it is the Adi Shakti’s job. You have to evolve very calmly.



Everything works out by the grace of God. We have always to be mindful of this fact. Somepeople are negative and money is all to them. Such people have nothing to do with Sahaja Yoga. But you have no remedy for it. The Adi Shakti Herself will take care of them.

Gruha and Rajya Lakshmi

Gruha Lakshmi: you know that, Gruha Lakshmi.

Gruha Lakshmi- Gruha Lakshmi is the deity of the family- The one who is the deity of the family. Any housewife need not be Gruha Lakshmi. She can be a shrew; she can be a horrid woman. The deity of the household, if she resides in you then you are a Gruha Lakshmi, otherwise you are not.





Then there is Rajya Lakshmi- She is the one who gives grace to the kings. If the Kings behave like a servant then they are not to be called kings. They have to behave in a dignified manner. The Dignity, the Majesty of a king comes from the Rajya Lakshmi.




But a Sahaja Yogi is not a king. He walks in a very stately manner, goes very stately, he is very majestic in handling people, he is very gracious in doing everything in such a manner that people think that here comes the king.

Amruta Lakshmi

Amruta Lakshmi: Am-ru-ta- Amruta means the thing that does not die. In this world the Lakshmi exists as your wealth. Now the wealth that does not die, which is that wealth? Is the Sprit. So the grace of the Sprit is the Amruta Lakshmi.




Grace of the Sprit is the Amruta Lakshmi. The rest of things always die out. And whatever is done through the Sprit, to please the Sprit, is the Amruta Lakshmi. For example: loving others. Loving others has a different meaning in the symbolic way and you people understand this.



Loving means giving- doing without any expectation- just doing and enjoying. The greatest is giving vibrations. That is Amruta; vibrations do not die. That’s the Lakshmi of the Amruta.

Now Amruta Lakshmi- Amruta means the one that is the nectar, if you take that you will not die, means eternity. She is the one who gives you the life of eternity.

Aadya Lakshmi

Aadya Lakshmi means Mahalakshmi. Adya Lakshmi, Adi, Adya….. that’s the first one.

Now first is the Adya Lakshmi. Adya is the one who is Primordial, Primordial Lakshmi. As I told you that She came out of the sea. So that’s what because Christ’s mother was called as Mary, Mariam, because She came from Maree. People do not know why She was called Mary. My name was Neera – meaning come from water.

Saubhagya Lakshmi

Saubhagya Lakshmi- Sau- bhaagya, “Saubhagya” means good fortune, the Lakshmi that gives you good fortune in every way. Like she gives you good fortune in money; in your living; in your food; in every way. Any good fortune is given through God.




It’s only the God who gives good fortune. If you get money say in the racecourse, that’s bad fortune because that will be lost next day or you will go to a pub to be free. But if you get your real one, then you celebrate something out of it which is blissful and great, is Saubhagya Lakshmi… say it. “Saubhagya Lakshmi”.

Now Saubhagya Lakshmi- She is the one who gives you good fortune. Good fortune doesn’t mean money but it means the grace of it. Many people have money. But that is like money on a donkey. You do not find any grace in that person.




Saubhagya does not mean only money; it means good luck, all the good luck in everything. In a very gracious manner, the use of blessings so that you also are blessed as well as those people who meet you will be blessed with Saubhagya.

Satya Lakshmi

Satya Lakshmi. I told awareness, She is the one who has given you awareness. Awareness is Lakshmi’s character. “Satya” means “the truth.” As you rise in your awareness, you know the truth. Now what is the truth? What is the truth? What are we aware of?




You are aware that you are the instrument of God and that He is working through you. You are aware of that because it’s flowing on your central nervous system. This is the truth of which you have to be aware. What is the other truth? Is who are you?



That you are the Sprit. And the third truth is who am I? And the fourth is who is God? What is your deity? If they become your awareness, then you have got Satya Lakshmi.

Satya Lakshmi- That is that you get the Awareness of Truth. But apart from that the awareness of truth is there, but you put this truth forward in a gracious manner.



This is the truth, you have it, not like this. You don’t have to hit people with the truth. You have to put it in a flower and give it to them. That is Satya Lakshmi.




Of course all the Lakshmi Tatvas are the heart settled powers within us but they are to be actually expressed in our brain. Brain is the Virata, is the Vishnu who becomes the Virata. So all these powers, specially this power, are in the brain. So the brain itself spontaneously behaves in such a manner that people think that this is a special type of personality.


A Sahaja Yogi always knows how to enjoy. Sahaja Yogi is never worried, anything he could enjoy.




………………. Supposing you see something absurd, ridiculous, then you should laugh and enjoy. This is very difficult thing, you see, the absurd. You should not get angry with someone because somebody is absurd or funny, but you should make it enjoyable.



So that is the greatest, I think one of greatest blessing that She gives you the power to enjoy. Otherwise whatever you may try, people do not enjoy anything, because they have become so ego-oriented that nothing goes into their heads. They have to be tickled here with an electrode.

Vidya Lakshmi

Vidya-Lakshmi -Vidya is the art of Sahaja Yoga, which you know, that is Vidya. The rest is all Avidya.




How to raise the Kundalini; how to awaken all the deities; how to cleanse yourself; how to cleanse others; all the knowledge; all the science about that is called as Vidya, the Lakshmi of that. Lakshmi is the grace, is the grace. Awareness.. that is gracious.




Awareness that is gracious. So that Lakshmi should be with you, is that not only to know the Vidya, you know that, but to have grace about it. The way people do things, for example, some people may just go on.. all that kind of nonsense you do. Sometimes the way we go on working, when I’m giving lecture and people are just working out. All that is most disgraceful and depressing. So not to do these methods of making the thing look so depressed… I mean you need not be serious people at all because Sahaja Yoga is not a serious thing, it is a play. It is a play of grace. You have to be but gracious; you are not to be disgraceful, that’s very important.





If you are disgraceful, then your Vidya is useless. I have seen many people all the time doing like this, doing like that; they think that if their left hand…jaw.. see? They have become now masters of this. There’s no grace about it. One has to see how to do it graciously. You see your Mother, how She moves Her hands and fingers. Not one day, one time, even in one action you will find Me doing something unrespectable, except when I copy you. So this is what it is, is the Vidya Lakshmi. Lakshmi is the grace within the Vidya.

Then the second one is Vidya Lakshmi. She is the one who teaches you the technique of handling the Divine power. Now that is to be understood very well, what is the Lakshmi? Lakshmi is graciousness. So she teaches you how to use this power with graciousness. Now, this is what is the blessing going to you so that you get the power of the Adya Lakshmi by which you become like water.





What is the water? It has got the cleansing power, and which I am, without water we cannot exist in this life. So that is the first blessing for you is that your face shines, with Adya Lakshmi as you become cleansed and that you can see all that is serious, all that is light and forgotten.





Vidya Lakshmi is the one, I told you, who gives you knowledge. Knowledge of how to handle the Divine Power graciously. I will give an example, I have seen many people, when they give the Bandhan, it is such a crude way. No, it is not to be done. It is a Lakshmi. So now you do it very carefully. You see Me, how I give all that. I never do that way. I cannot, with respect. With grace.




She represents the respect part. And that you get, that knowledge, how to do it gracefully. Everything is to be done gracefully, in a manner that looks gracious. Some people who talk have no grace, nothing! Some people who give knowledge of Sahaja Yoga also have no grace and they talk in a disgraceful manner. With all the grace, how to use the knowledge of the Divine is given by Vidya Lakshmi.

Bhogya Lakshmi

Bhogya Lakshmi: Bhogya- “Bhogya” means “the one by which you enjoy, by which you enjoy.” I mean it’s like the whole ocean of joy is around you and you are like a boat who cannot drink. Only through the grace of Bhogya Lakshmi you can enjoy that ocean. So the Sprit, though it is manifesting, you are not enjoying the Sprit, even that.




Anything that you see… Say, see a flower, you should be able to enjoy it. You cannot enjoy because there is thought. Anything you do, there is thought, you cannot enjoy. When there is no thought, when the Sprit is flowing, you get complete enjoyment. Actually I should say, I am the Enjoyer.

Yoga Lakshmi

Yoga Lakshmi: the Lakshmi’s power which gives you yoga. Lakshmi supports your power of yoga by giving you awareness. The power by which you take to yoga is all combined as Yoga Lakshmi. Like your affluence, you are not satisfied and you want to have yoga. The dissatisfaction you get till you have got yoga is coming from the Yoga Lakshmi.




So yoga Lakshmi means the power which gives you or takes you to your grace, by which you go to yoga, that’s yoga Lakshmi. Means the kind of a satisfaction that you seek is manifested in you though this power of Yoga Lakshmi. And then once you have achieved your yoga, you get the grace. Lakshmi is the grace.




So you get the grace of a saint. You should have the grace of a saint. You should look like a saint; you are a saint. I think better write it on your mirrors. “We are saints. We are ‘Men of God’. We have to behave like saints. We are saints.” You are. No doubt. You are ‘Men of God,’ no doubt, but you have turned your faces this way. So, this is the Yoga Lakshmi.



For example a person who has got Yoga Lakshmi doesn’t quarrel like a madcap. If he quarrels or dominates someone in a foolish way then he’s still lacking that Lakshmi point. There’s grace about it; whole way of talking and- how you talk to a saint?



So these are the eight-fold paths by which one has to grace oneself. This is the attire of this… and today you have asked for it. May God give you that power.

Yoga Lakshmi- The one who gives you Yoga. That power is within you, that is the power of Lakshmi within you, means you give others the Yoga. When you give the power of Yoga to others, I mean when you use your power of yoga, then you don’t behave like a monkey or a donkey or a horse but you do it with grace, do it such a manner that it is very gracious, i.e. What you call, in a gentle, dignified, majestic way. So this is what it is.




Now when you have sung it in this manner, this power has been bestowed upon you. Now even, if you want you cannot behave indignified way. You are fixed. Thank you very much.

Overcoming from Kaliyuga

Now Diwali is very significant because today is the darkest day. Darkest night and longest night, and to end it up they put lights.




Now in the atmosphere its all very dark black, the sun is gone. So they out on all these lights. In the same way it is Kaliyuga.



Now Kaliyuga, even consider as one day it is very dark, horrible, it has lots of problems which made our life miserable and we don’t know how to move with love. At this moment what is necessary is to enlighten oneself. Kaliyuga is at its worst now. The kind of things people are doing even in the name of God is shocking. But that is Kaliyuga, where we have lost all the sense of direction. We don’t know which way we are going.



All kinds of wrong things we are doing and we think its alright. After all what’s wrong in it. Everything you tell them, they say what’s wrong? You tell them don’t do it, they say what’s wrong? That’s how every human being has become very individualistic. In a way he is not, because they allow a fashion, they follow a style.



I mean they are not. They are slavish. But they belive that they are very independent. They are free people. They can do whatever they like. As a result of this freedom, in this Kaliyuga, what has happened with them is that they have become extremely ugly. The kind of things they are doing in Kaliyuga is unbelievable. Even when they are preached, they are in the Church’s, this thing, that thing. They become so horribly immoral that you can not believe how come that be in the name of God, under the roof of God. But it has started, that is Kaliyuga. And this Kaliyuga has to be finished.




So what do we do to remove the darkness of the night, is to put light. In the same way people should be enlightened. There should be light in the hearts of people. Once they are enlightened, this darkness, from which we are suffering because of our ignorance, will be finished and we will have the absolute knowledge.




So this is a new age that we are talking about here, right now here, that it is going to work out in such a manner that there will be all enlightened personalities together and they will know what is right, what is real knowledge, Gyana.

Vibrations can be misleading

The knowledge as I told you, pure knowledge is that which gives you a pure light. Pure light means pure vibrations.




Now vibrations can be misleading as I told you, or could be the quantity of vibrations can be less or more. There is another way.





It is to see for yourself why do you want to do a particular thing? Mentally also you can use parameter of mental understanding.


Why do I want to do it?
What is the gain for all the people?



If you start thinking from that angle, what is the gain for others, what will they gain by this, why should I do it, you will be amazed, you will get the real picture of what you are doing.



So you must keep yourself all the time in a state where you witness yourself, you see yourself that why I am doing this. What is the purpose? Sometimes could be some conditioning, could be some sort of psychological thing, could be anything. But if you start watching carefully, why I am doing it, you will be amazed that your vibration itself will start telling you on your finger tips.





But sometimes, the vibrations are so superficially coming, Ah, I got the vibrations, I am this, I am that! What is the reason, why I am saying again and again though you are such a nice family of mine and you are also much blessed and we have so much of knowledge with us? We should be very wise. If there is no wisdom, we can never understand what we are doing.

Three Paths

So we have three paths, as you know, in Sahaja Yoga.


The one is of Bhakti. Bhakti is where you sing the praise of God, have devotion, do all kinds of rituals, everything, and you think that you are very close to God.


This is one, which is being accepted by many, many people and by many so-called religions, that we must have complete dedication for God. How can you – you are not yet connected to God. How are you doing? How can you have any dedication to God, with whom you are not at all connected?



The second one was the Karma, that you do your work. You go on doing your work with a detached mind. I mean it’s not possible, but that’s what they say and we are doing our Karmas, good Karmas, we do all kinds of good things, go to various places for our cleansing, meet many great people of spirituality, go to all various places and pray. Visit all auspicious places which are being described. All kinds of rituals, we do for that.



That is the karma yoga. And that is what the karma yoga, according to us, is the right side.


Many people, as you know, are right-sided. Right-sided people are the people who are, as you know, full of ego, arrogance and think no end of themselves- very difficult to correct them. They also never see anything wrong with them. Whichever way they act, they think is all right.



That is the karma yoga, but He has said that whatever karmas you do, whatever its fruits are, that you cannot say. He said it in a very uncertain manner because definitely, if He had said it with certainty, people would never have understood Him. So He said it is not possible that whatever karmas you are doing could be the karmas which will get you the blessing of the Divine…..



‘Karmanyevadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana’ , He has said it.


So then, which karmas we should do? Or should we give up all karmas? All the action, we should give up?


People were in two minds. This is the style of Shri Krishna, is to put people in two minds so they use their discretion.




And the 3rd one is the discretion. Which you call as the Gyanmarga. It’s the central path by which you evolve. You evolve into a new state. Into a new state of your mind, a new state of your being by which you become absolutely above every nonsense. Also you are endowed with power to fight whatever is bad, whatever is corrupting, whatever is killing this world. At that stage you are equipped with the divine power that you can finish off anything that is negative around you.

Beautiful RAKHEES

Many many blessings to all.

I have received the beautiful RAKHEES lovingly sent by you .RAKHEE denotes a protective power. This protective bandhan is very powerful and at the same time delicate as it represents pure love between a brother and a sister.



Whenever a sister ties this RAKHEE on a brother’s hand, it establishes a relation of enduring protection by the brother for the sister. Unfortunately, the sensitivity of human beings to the feelings of love has become so weak that tying a RAKHEE has become a mechanical ritual. In absence of a deep living faith all human actions and rituals become dry and lifeless.


We are born in this life with a purposeful responsibility towards all Sahaj yogis and are all the time aware of their love and devotion. Myself being desireless, I depend entirely on their desires. It is customary for a brother to ask for something from the sister on this day. All sahajayogis should therefore collectively let me know whatever they desire from my side.



I am keeping very good health as this is the pure desire of all of you. I have to undergo a minor surgery for ear which is not a problem, and you need not worry about it nor feel unduly concerned.



RAKHEE bandhan is a very important day and one should desire on this occasion to become a 'whole', you should always have high aspirations and your attention should be to larger perspectives. Sahaj-yogis are not expected to waste their attention in petty small things. We have to work very hard, those of you who have achieved good progress should still work out much more. We should open more centers. We must help the sick to cure their ailments and above all strive to bring people on the path of TRUTH. Please circulate this letter to all the sahaj yogis.

Karma, Gyana and Bhakti

He is the man who was not, we should say, such a big businessman. Because first He told you how to become Sthita Pragya: Sthita Pragya is the one who is in a witness state. If you see all these verses on Sthita Pragya, is nothing but a person who is in a witness state, how he lives, how he is happy, how he looks at things. It’s interesting, very intersting. First He describes that, not like sharp people who will first describe first the bad things. But He starts with the best, then He goes down to other things and tells you whatever are the three aspects.



The first He talks about Karma and many people get stuck at that point, that: “whatever karmas we are doing, we’ll get the punyas out of it.” But He didn’t say that. If you know Him, then you will know He never meant that. What He says is that: “Whatever karmas you have to do, you can do it, but leave the results to the Divine Power.” Results are from the Divine Power. Now maybe that some people think that they have got money because they have done good karmas and start doing all kinds of bad karmas with that money. He didn’t say that. He said: “Leave the results to the Divine Power.” Because Divine Power knows best what is good for you. And so, if you think you have done something good, you have served somewhere to the poor, you have done something really good for the women or anything, the result of that, you leave it at the feet of the Divine Power. It means that you don’t build up an ego for whatever you have done. Very well, He has written The best, but to understand Him, one should have again the witness state, to see what He has written about karma.




Then He has written about “ Gyana.” Gyana means ‘what you know.’ But that doesn’t mean you go on reading books, never. Gyana means to know what you are. That means you have to be a Sahaja Yogi by which you know so many things through vibrations. Gyana doesn’t mean reading books. By reading books you become more ignorant. So Gyana means that you must know yourself. If you do not know yourself, you do not know anything. So it comes to that, you must get your self-realisation. You must know yourself. It’s the second thing He has said.



Lastly He talks about Bhakti. Bhakti is devotion that too is another trick of Shri Krishna, the way He described Bhakti. Now you find people on the street: “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna” singing. In one word, He’s concluded, He says: “you must do Ananya Bhakti.” Ananya means when there is not the other. That means when you have submerged yourself into the Divine. When you are one with the Divine, then you should do Bhakti, otherwise I do not accept. He says that: “If you give Me some leaves or some fruits or some flowers, I will accept.” But for Him, the real Bhakti is only possible when you become one with the Divine, otherwise it’s just a show.



So the third Bhakti part also comes after self-realisation. Now in the Bhakti you see there is no—what is the value is and how much you’ve paid for it and how you bought it, it’s not important.

It is the ocean of illusion in which we live. And we are the seekers….

If we are in the ocean, our ship should be seaworthy.

Then any kind of illusion is not going to deter us if we are seaworthy.

But seaworthy means we must know if there is a fog, how to move in right direction.

We should know how to overcome all the hazards of all kinds of storms and all the knowledge should be built-in within us.

And that built-in knowledge is this dharma.

It is a religion within you – not without, but with in you.

Surrender yourself for the Kundalini to open the chakras

So, if you are conditioned, you're frightened, you're afraid and you had ideas about yourself. These days the way people are describing, they'll say I'm an extrovert, somebody will say I'm an introvert, I'm that, all kinds of things they can have attributed to themselves.


But these ideas are all coming from outside, they're not from inside. To get to the inner side of yourself, the subtler side of your being, you must allow the Kundalini to go through the agnya. To cross the agnya is a very important thing in modern times and for that you have to meditate. If you can meditate with complete faith in yourself, this agnya can be opened out.

With surrendering to the divine, you have to surrender yourself to the divine, and when this agnya opens, you'll be amazed. Your Sahasrara is just waiting to transfer, to give you all the help that you need through the all-pervading power. Your connection of Sahasrara with the all-pervading power is established and by that you'll be amazed how all these seven chakras work for you, how they help you, how they try to give you whatever is the real knowledge about everything.

This real knowledge that you get is very joy giving. You can see this real knowledge in everything. You don't have to start reading any book about it. In every situation and in every person, in every flower, in every natural happening, you see clearly the hand of the divine. Once you see the hand of the divine, your ego starts disappearing.

Once you say that it's you, you do everything; it's the divine power that does everything - what am I? I was just a drop and I fell into this ocean of awareness of the divine power and that is taking over and working it out. That will help you a lot to be a great Sahaja Yogi.
